Tim. Love your image and a "favorite" for me. Yep, that's exactly the way I held the ball as I completed my last "perfect game" (in my dreams). Thanks!

Tim Allen replied:

LOL Thank you so muh, James. It is still one of my all time favorites. I've since talked with Jerry Browning, the poet that used my image with his poem, and he says, to this day, it is still his crowning moment. As it is mine, too. Thanks again, James. :)

Tim, can't add much to what has already been said except as an old Left-Handed pitcher I appreciate that you chose to feature a Lefty in this piece. Pretty cool stuff!

To have a pitcher - and a left-handed one to boot - making such comments on this is just icing on the cake. Thank you very much, Ken. So pleased you like it.

Artist's Description

For baseball fans everywhere.

Addendum: I was asked permission by Jerry Browning, a poet here on FAA, for use of this image to go above a poem titled "A Perfect Game" in a project he is doing called Emotionography. Well, back on July 23, 2009 Mark Buehrle threw a perfect game against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and now The Baseball Hall of Fame has requested the poem, with my image above and a link to my FAA profile at the bottom, to go into a folder for future reference.

A couple sweet ironies here include that not only is Mark a lefty but the perfect game he threw was pitched on the day I turned 52 years young!

Check it out at: http://emotionography.net/book3/a_perfect_game.htm

Lesson learned: You never know who may be watching you.
