Innovation in the architecture evolves with successive generations, this is an important subject.F&V
Tim Allen replied:
My thoughts exactly, Fred. Seattle has been losing it's character and identity with all the cookie cutter pinstripe highrises that have gone up in the past 2 decades here. The stone arch sits in from of the Federal Building having been saved from the wrecking ball. It's good to see some of our local and very rich architectural history remains, even if only in small quantities. Don't get me wrong. I love a lot of the new buildings going up, (the Rem Koolhaus built Central Library for one,) but too often they arejust more of the same, lacking in imagination and innovation almost as if they dcust cut and pasted the blueprints of the building. I appreciate your comment very much.
