LOL! Despite Clarke's book and Kubrick's movie came out 6 years later, I wouldn't be surprised to find an early version of HAL lurking about under those arches. ;^)

This is awesome, Tim! I think I remembers seeing pictures of these from the 1962(?) Worlds Fair, about the time the Space Needle was created! I always thought that architecture was cool and the wave of the future! Unfortunately, VERY unfortunately, it seems to have gone the way of the air-cars we were promised, moon and mars colonies, the Jetsons, and about everything else. I think somebody stole our future, or it got hijacked somewhere! Chuck
